With an outrageous bounty of 60,000,000,000 double dollars, Vash the Stampede, accompanied by two insurance representatives, Milley and Meryle, journey around a desert planet trying to find Peace.

The Trigun story begins as the duo Milley and Meryle, are in search for Vash to moniter his actions and accurately insure those who have lost property because of Vash’s actions, as he is suspected to be the one behind the July city blowout incident. After the duo join up with Vash the Stampede, an endless amount of bounty hunters, townfolk, and random characters attempt to capture or other wise kill Vash for the giant bounty. The story of Vash however starts on a space ship set towards repopulating planets with humans frozen from the destroyed Earth. Vash and his brother Knives both live on ship with beloved REM and crew who are later killed because of Knives. Vash and Knives, once beloved brothers, become enemies after Knives becomes enlightened with the logic that humans are merely a parasite. From there the space ship crashes onto the desert planet leaving a fleet to land and populate the planet, and Vash with Knives. Events later lead to efforts of Vash to stop his brother from killing all life on the planet.
